💛 Parent Involvement: The Heart of Our Club 💛
At Centenary Little Athletics, we’re more than just a youth athletics club—we’re a community! And like any great community, it thrives on teamwork, dedication, and a shared passion for helping our kids grow.
We believe that parent involvement is essential to creating a supportive, fun, and successful environment for our young athletes. Whether you're cheering from the sidelines, helping with set-up, or volunteering in an official role, every bit of help makes a big impact—and trust us, the kids notice!
Our club is run entirely by volunteers, and we rely on the amazing energy and generosity of our families to make each weekly meet and training session a reality. From the first warm-up to the last race of the night, parents help make it all happen.
This Season we are introducing Age Group Coordinators
Each age group is supported by an Age Group Coordinator. This volunteer role is filled by a parent or guardian from that age group and plays an important part in helping Friday Meets run smoothly by organising the group, communicating important information, and supporting athletes throughout the evening.
At the beginning of each season, we ask for a volunteer to self-nominate as Age Group Coordinator. If no one volunteers, a coordinator will be allocated at random from the parents or guardians within that age group to ensure the group can participate.
💪 Parent Roles:
When parents step in, it sends a powerful message to our athletes: that their efforts matter, that community is important, and that sport is about more than just results—it's about connection, confidence, and celebration.
As a community-run club, every age group must have an Age Group Coordinator before athletes in that age group can compete at Friday Night Meets. This shared responsibility allows our centre to operate safely and gives every athlete the opportunity to enjoy a fun and successful season.

💪 Parent Roles:
- Age Marshals – guide and support our age groups during events
- Measurers & Recorders – help track distances, times, and those all-important PBs!
- General Helpers – setting up, packing down, or just lending a hand where it’s needed

Parent/Guardian Supervision
Centenary Little Athletics is a family-focused, community sport. Friday nights are about more than just competition—they're a chance to switch off from the busy week, spend quality time together, and cheer on your children as they learn, grow and have fun.
For the safety and wellbeing of all athletes, a parent or guardian must remain at Jindalee Recreation Reserve for the entire duration of the meet. If a parent or guardian cannot be located when needed, the athlete will be asked to sit out of events until they return.
We understand that many families have multiple children participating. If you need to move between age groups or event areas during the evening, simply let your Age Group Coordinator know where you'll be. That way, we can quickly find you if your child needs you.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, supportive and connected community for all of our athletes.
